What initially attracted you to pursue a career in this field?

With a background in Kinesiology, I never envisioned myself pursuing a career in the automotive industry. Like many, I had no idea what the sector truly had to offer. It wasn’t until my cousin, who worked in the industry, recommended I apply for an internship at Enterprise that my perspective began to shift. At the time, I was looking for a role that would get me out from behind a desk and allow me to grow with each new challenge. That internship marked the beginning of a journey that has now spanned over a decade. Since then, I’ve never looked back, discovering a fulfilling career path that I never could have anticipated.  

What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in your role, and how have you overcome them?

The automotive industry is known for its constant evolution, but in the past five years, the pace of change has accelerated significantly. Economic pressures and shifts in consumer confidence often hit the automotive sector first, creating a unique set of challenges. To navigate this, I’ve had to stay agile and continuously update my knowledge of the industry. By keeping a pulse on industry trends and emerging shifts, I ensure that I remain a leader in providing valuable insights. This knowledge allows me to collaborate closely with our dealer partners, adapting our approach to offer tailored solutions that meet the evolving demands of today’s business climate. 

Do you have any advice for someone considering a career in automotive?

If you’re looking for a dynamic career with ample opportunities for growth and upward mobility, the automotive industry might be the perfect match. It’s a field that thrives on tackling new challenges, staying agile, and adapting to an ever-changing landscape. If you enjoy the idea of being part of an industry that’s constantly evolving and where your ability to stay relevant is key to success, then automotive may be the place where you can truly thrive. Is there anything you wish someone had told you as you started your career in automotive?

Looking back on my early days in the automotive industry, one of the most important things I wish someone had told me was: You are exactly who and where you need to be. When I first began, I often found myself in environments where I didn’t see many women, and there were times when I felt the pressure to fit into a certain mold or change myself. But over time, I realized that what makes me unique is exactly what the industry needs. Today, it’s inspiring to see so many women who have risen through the ranks, becoming leaders and change-makers in the automotive sector. What sets you apart can often become your greatest strength—your unique perspective is a powerful asset that can drive innovation and success.
