Several MVRO members have asked us about Ontario’s new Motor Vehicle Inspection Station (MVIS) program. The MVIS program will be transitioning to the newly named DriveON program.
Ontario’s new DriveON program will be combining the motor vehicle inspection stations and emissions testing programs into a single digital platform. In Spring 2022, DriveON was launched to integrate emissions testing and safety inspections for heavy-duty diesel commercial motor vehicles.
In early 2024, the platform will be opened to begin onboarding motor vehicle inspection stations into DriveON.
If you operate an existing MVIS, your facility will not be automatically enrolled into the DriveON program. You will be required to apply as a new vehicle inspection centre, and pay the fees required to join the program. You should be contacted by the program administrator, Parson’s Inc., about the new application process.
If you have any questions about the new program, call the DriveON Contact Centre at 1-833-420-2110 or email VIC@driveonportal.com.
Full more information on the MVIS transition to DriveON, visit this website.
NOTE: If you are a current MVIS station and want to continue doing so through the new DriveON program, please visit this website for pre-enrollment information. Once the rollout begins, you will be informed by the MTO by letter and/or email and the link will be updated.
If your current MVIS station does not receive emails from the MTO, you can request they send you emails by emailing them at MVIS.CIVA@ontario.ca
Sincerely,
Frank Notte
